Engineering for Historic Structures provides structural inspections for modern, vintage, century, and historic buildings in both residential and commercial structures. We aim to provide valuable insight into the problems a building is experiencing and suggestions on how to fix them. Upon completion of the visual inspection, a report will be given detailing the findings of the visit. We work with architects, home inspectors, home owners, banks, contractors, real estate agents, insurance companies, and potential buyers.
We have provided forensic inspections for insurance companies or owners after various types of damage has occurred to either commercial or residential buildings.
We are experienced in structural inspection from attic to crawl space or foundation. Some common problems we have provided input on are listed below:
Termite/Pest Damage
Cracking/bowing/damaged foundation
Damaged/cracked beams or columns
Locating load-bearing walls
Sizing beams to replace load bearing walls
Water damage/rot
